Enrolment Procedure

The YECCA enrolment procedure is summarised below:

1.    Complete the Enrolment Form.

2.    Provide YECCA with the following documentation:

  • An Immunisation History Statement (we can no longer accept ‘Blue Books’ as proof). As of 1 January, 2018, children in NSW who have not been immunised due to their parent’s vaccine conscientious objection, cannot be enrolled in childcare.
  • Birth Certificate.

3.    If applicable, provide the following additional information:

  • Allergy, anaphylaxis, asthma or diabetes plan.
  • Court order.
  • Centrelink documentation.
  • Health Care Card.

All preschools that are funded by the NSW Government must comply with the following Priority of Access Guidelines:

  • Children who are at risk of harm.
  • Aboriginal children.
  • Children in the year before starting school.
  • Children from low income families.
  • Children with a language background other than English (LBOTE).
  • Children with disabilities.

Please note that the completion of the enrolment procedure does not guarantee a position. If necessary, your child will go on a waiting list until a position becomes available.

For other methods of payment please speak with Chris in the Office.

What to bring

Packing for a preschooler is not easy, so here is a list of things that we think your child should bring to YECCA:

School bag – big enough to carry all the items below, but not too big. In your child’s bag, please pack:

  • Clothes – should be ‘old play clothes’ as they may get marked or soiled. If your child is toilet training, 3-5 extra changes of pants and underwear.
  • Spare set of clothes – just in case of an accident or they get wet.
  • Nappies – children in the Day Care Room that require nappies, need to provide their own. Each child has a pigeon hole in the change room for you to keep stocked up.
  • Lunch box – please refer to separate section below.
  • Drink bottle – water is preferred.
  • Hat – required all year round. YECCA bucket hats available for $10 each from the Office. Sunscreen is provided by YECCA. If your child has an allergy, or prefers a different sunscreen, please provide with labelling.
  • Shoes – comfortable and supportive, suitable for running and climbing.
  • Bedding – cot sized sheets and a blanket. We suggest bringing bedding in a separate drawstring bag.

Lunch Box

Pack some healthy food that they can open themselves if appropriate. We are also happy to reheat leftovers etc. Check out  www.healthykids.nsw.gov.au for more ideas. Some suggestions could include:

  • Sandwich.
  • Fruit, vegetable sticks or dried fruit.
  • Yoghurt, cheese and crackers.
  • Snack for morning tea.
